Armi Millare, a songwriter, vocalist, keyboardist of the alternative rock band from Manila, UDD, then known as Up Dharma Down. She is a cat lady believing that life is too short to be unhappy and if one knows what truly make oneself happy, then one must go get it. At a young age, music has enticed her to be expressive and she uses this as a tool to communicate her deepest feelings and conflicts. Her band is known locally and internationally and is described by TIME Magazine as, “genre-defying, thoughtful and sensual.” UDD also earned itself a praise from BBC radio, pegging them as, “the Manila band most likely to cross over to North America.” The band has received numerous awards, having won three of their nominations in the 2009 NU Rock Awards, as the Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and also Vocalist of Year. They have also performed gigs in notable events such as The Mosaic Music Festival in Singapore and CAMA Festival in Vietnam and was featured in Channel V’s AMP and MTVAsia.
